Forgotten homeland. 5 players from Germany

The loud statements that the Russian national team reached a new level after the World Cup died down – everything gradually returns to its roots, replete with hopelessness, humiliation and rolling the ball. Cherchesov still stubbornly ignores Chalov and Karavaev, causing dubious personalities in the person of Neustedter and Ari, and fans put to sleep by the fantastic World Cup awaken from their sleep and begin to do their favorite work again – throw stones at the national garden.
Breeding in the national team at zero, because citizenship is scattered right and left, they don’t really call up ready-made players, and then at press conferences they don’t know what to say. In the light of the recent (and far from the first) failures of the national team, we are compiling a list of players who are far from their historical homeland but could really help in the New Year.
5. Andre FOMICHEV, “Hajduk” Croatia.
In the depths of the highest division of Croatia, a German defender hid with a fairly Russian name and surname. Andrei was born in Dresden, Germany 28 years ago and has never been to Russia, despite the fact that his father is a native of Moscow, and his mother was born in St. Petersburg. Fomichev is fluent in Russian and, communicating with the press from Russia, considers it necessary to give an interview in his native language.
In one of the conversations three years ago, Fomichev declared his readiness to play in the Russian club and, if lucky, in a national team shirt. In terms of the main role, “German” is a left-back player – it is in this position that he, being a pupil of “Wolfsburg”, spends almost his entire career, sometimes finding himself by the will of the coaching staff as a winger.
4. Alexander SHVOLOV, “Freiburg” Germany.
A tremendous goalkeeper managed to bring up a modest “Freiburg” even by the standards of the Bundesliga. Shvolov, whose height reaches the level of 189 centimeters, managed to play 17 matches in the German championship this season. Alexander, in contrast to Fomichev, has a more complicated situation – he does not know the Russian language, although in an interview with one German edition he admitted that he is indeed an ethnic Russian, and on both parental lines.
Alexander was summoned to the junior and youth national teams of Germany, but never the case reached the first one. It is strange that he is ignored by the national team coaching staff, especially in the light of the departure of Igor Akinfeev from the camp of the national team. Alexander is only 26 years old, and on his account appear 79 fights for “Freiburg” in the Bundesliga. If Lunev skips in his usual manner, and Selikhov and Lodygin are regular clients of the infirmary, the coaching staff should at least consider the possibility of inviting a German goalkeeper with Russian roots to the national team.
3. Edward LEVIN, “Nuremberg” Germany.
The man, whose last name in German style sounds like Leuven, plays very well for Nuremberg in the Bundesliga. Last winter, Moscow’s Spartak Moscow had a strong interest in the 21-year-old German person, inspired by the presence of a Russian passport from a talented player. Levin is a powerful enough player who has a strong kick from his right foot, and also stands out among his colleagues with inhuman performance.
Head coach of Nuremberg Michael Kellner uses Levin in the center of midfield, but because of its versatility, the young athlete can close the zone central defender. However, when playing 1 in 1, Levin is sometimes lost and can be blurred, leading to a stroke or blows from under him. There are no universal players in the national team, and probably there will not be – Levin prefers Germany, considering his historic homeland only as a reserve option.
2. Edgar Prib, Hannover, Germany.
Unlike the three previous players, Prib is a pure-blooded German, but was born on the territory of Russia, in the Yakut city of Neryungri. At the moment, Edgar is on the contract in “Hanover”, which is trying its best to save a place in the elite division of Germany.
28-year-old Prib is a graduate of the modest Greuther Furth, whose main team colors he defended for 4 years (got into the Greuther midfielder at the age of 7).
Prib never played for either the junior teams or the youth teams of Germany, so there will be no problems with getting a passport at all. In the 2012/13 season, Pribb defended the colors of his native club in the Bundesliga, where ex-defender of the Kazakhstan national team Shmidtgal, who is also a purebred German, played alongside him. In an interview, Edgar honestly admitted that he was going to try on a T-shirt of the Russian national team someday. It must be said that Prib could become an indispensable person for the national team due to its universality – midfielder conceals both wings of the midfield, and can also play under the attacker.
1. Maximilian PRONICHEV, “Hertha” Germany.
Fans of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” remember this guy, who a couple of years ago played for the second team of “blue-white-blue” in the FNL.
Now Max is 21 years old, he plays for the German club Erzgebirge Aue, in the second most powerful division in Germany. Maximilian was born in Berlin.
